Enjoy an afternoon with Foodie Richard Till and Author Alexa Johnston, listening to music, being treated to continuous delectable savoury and sweet treats while sipping on world class blended tea or a glass of bubbles if you prefer. There will be a celebrity bake off as well as a competition for The Best Dressed, so get some friends together and support a great cause The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.

Alexa Johnston: In September 2008, Penguin Books released Ladies, a Plate by Alexa Johnston. Since publication Ladies, a Plate has reprinted six times, won the Lifestyle & Contemporary Culture category at the 2009 Montana NZ Book Awards, was shortlisted for the 2009 Booksellers Choice Award and is winner of the supreme Nielsen Award for Best Book and also Best Illustrated category at the 2009 PANZ Book Design Awards.

In response to this enthusiastic reception for Ladies, a Plate, Alexa Johnston has gathered together another tempting selection of traditional recipes for the home baker. A Second Helping has many more old favourites including Sponge Kisses, Melting Moments, Tan Squares, to name a few that will help ensure the success of any community sweet stall. A Second Helping celebrates the accumulated wisdom of past generations of skilled home cooks in a beautiful book which will bring continuing pleasure and an assurance of baking triumphs to your kitchen.

Richard Till: Serving up riveting TV, and an insatiable host, we present the one and only, Richard Till. Richard made his way into our living rooms last year as the opinionated, unpretentious and likeable chef in Kiwi Kitchen is now a New Zealand household name.

Since debuting on television, Richard has branched out and utilised some of his many skills to write books and then toured the country with the second series of his top rating TV show. He's so popular in fact, that Foodtown and Countdown have chosen him as their pin up boy. He cracked the food market by doing comedy cooking shows in Arts Festivals in Wellington and catered for visiting music tours such as U2, Simply Red and Stevie Wonder.

A real entrepreneur, Richard understands business and has also owned his own restaurants. Which is not half bad for a kiwi bloke who grew up in Christchurch and Dunedin building and painting sets! Richard loves going out to small country communities and his broad appeals guarantees he's be in demand for a very long time.

Kylie Hawker: Swapping her boxing gloves for oven gloves, Kylie has accepted the challenge to go head to head against Richard Till at the Taupo Tea Party Bake-off. Since arriving in Taupo just over two years ago, Kylie has sampled many of the baked delights around the Taupo town centre in her quest to find the perfect Neenish Tart.

Imagine her delight when she was appointed General Manager of Towncentre Taupo, which has provided her ample opportunity for legitimate afternoon tea meetings! Kylie is also involved with many charitable groups and trusts in Taupo, and many will recognise her as a competitor in last year's King of the Ring charity boxing event. Kylie describes herself as a avid reader of foodie magazines, collector of cook books, and a pretty good home gourmet. She was taught to bake by her beloved grandmother, and has been flour dusted most weekends since she could reach the bench and mixing bowl.
