The Foundation was specifically established to educate all New Zealanders on the life-saving benefits of early detection and the importance of mammograms. Each year more than 2400 New Zealand women are diagnosed with breast cancer and the risk of developing breast cancer at some time during her life is 1 in 9. For every woman diagnosed there are husbands, partners, children, siblings, family and colleagues who will feel the impact of her diagnosis. It is a disease which will touch nearly all New Zealanders and one which we all need to do something about. Your support of the Taupo Tea Party helps The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation to save lives through free national education seminars, the funding of radiation therapy and mammography scholarships and vital diagnostic equipment for breast health clinics as well community care and rehabilitation programmes. Thank you for helping us fight breast cancer. "The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation's aim is to reduce the number of New Zealanders who die from breast cancer and to improve outcomes and quality of life for those affected." |
